For 15 years, Patient Antwi from Assin Fosu, Ghana, lived with the pain and challenges of uterine fibroids. She endured prolonged, heavy bleeding and persistent pain that significantly affected her quality of life. Throughout those years, she consulted several doctors in search of treatment. However, surgery seemed out of reach. She recalls being told that the procedure carried significant risks, with some doctors warning her that she might not survive. Others described her chances of survival as 50-50. These frightening assessments left her fearful and discouraged, making her believe that surgery might never be possible. As her condition worsened and the bleeding became increasingly severe, she found strength through prayer and her faith. A vision she experienced in a dream gave her renewed courage to consider surgery despite her fears.

Hope came through an unexpected connection. A family member who worked at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Hospital in Assin Fosu informed her that Save Africa Foundation would be conducting a surgical outreach in September 2026. Her name was added to the list of potential patients, and she was encouraged to register. Although she hesitated for several days, Patient Antwi eventually found the courage to come forward and seek the treatment she desperately needed.

On Wednesday, September 23, 2026, she underwent a hysterectomy to treat her uterine fibroids through the Save Africa Foundation medical outreach at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Hospital. By Friday, September 25, she was recovering well and preparing for discharge. After 15 years of suffering, uncertainty, and fear, Patient Antwi finally had renewed hope for a better quality of life. She expressed heartfelt gratitude to Save Africa Foundation for providing her with access to surgery at no cost to her. Her story is a powerful reminder of what can happen when compassionate healthcare reaches people who have limited access to essential medical services. It is also a testament to the strength that faith, courage, and opportunity can inspire.

Through its medical outreach initiatives, Save Africa Foundation continues to bring hope to underserved communities, helping patients access essential surgical care and the possibility of a better quality of life.
